Where does it come from? Egypt, Syria, Turkey
Ingredients: Dried and rubbed Basil leaves
Storage and Shelf Life: Keeps for up to 12 months if stored in a cool, dry place
How much dried to substitute for fresh? 1:3 Ratio – use one teaspoon for every tablespoon of fresh herbs
What can I do with it? Used predominantly in Mediterranean cooking, can also be used to make pesto once reconstituted with water. Use near the end of the cooking process to preserve flavour
